Closet Catastrophe

Here is a peek inside my (tiny) closet. Although I wish I had more room in it, I do like the fact that I can open two doors and see everything I have....even if it does look like a catastrophe. Before I got married, I had my closet at home organized by color and type e.g. dresses, tops, skirts, and pants.

Much needed cleaning out must be done.

So stay tuned for an "after," on this closet make over.

To be continued...

French Onion Soup

Beef broth

2 lbs. of thinly sliced onions {can you see Ollie in the background? :)}

White wine, fresh Thyme, Jarlsberg cheese

Mayan Sweet Onions

Onions will reduce in size and texture after sauteeing

Top with French baguette and slice of Jarlsberg cheese

It was perfect weather for making soup this past weekend. The sky was gray, it was starting to drizzle and there was a chilly breeze out. French onion soup has to be one of my favorites. I found this recipe online. It was super easy to make and the outcome is nothing short of delicious. My Ameramaid cookware is the best! I must say there is nothing better than a hot bowl of soup to warm up a cold day :)
What are your favorite soups or foods to make/eat when it's rainy out?

Wish List

Kartell Louis Ghost chair

Chanel GST in beige clair

Cookbook stand from Williams - Sonoma

Moschino belt

Chanel Sunglasses style #5182

Wish lists are never ending aren't they? I have been loving these ghost chairs for quite some time. Although I do love the clear ones, the pink color is my favorite. It's so feminine, and it would look great as a desk chair or vanity chair. Fashion is always ever-changing and it can feel overwhelming keeping up with "trends." When it comes to making big purchases, I think it's best to ask yourself if you would still wear it year after year. Take for example the Chanel GST -grand shopping tote. It's just as classic as the iconic classic flap 2.55. I would love to add this bag to my collection not only because it's a classic, but also because it is a very large, roomy everyday bag. Christmas is right around the corner, so I was giving my husband some gift ideas and I really need this cookbook holder from Williams-Sonoma; I find the measurements on the side very useful. Saw this belt from a few other blogs I follow and have become so fixated with it. It's such a statement piece. And again we have Chanel. This I also saw on a blog I follow. I tried them on the this past weekend at Bloomingdales, and they look great! The style is similar to Ray Ban Wayfarers. I also like that they don't have the nose pads (which always get stuck in my hair when I pull them back), very basic, very stylish, very classic.

What is on your wish list? I would love to read :)

Lotsa Leopard!

Leopard print shawl from Charlotte Russe

Tory Burch Reva Flats in leopard print

Over sized leopard print scarf

In case you didn't already know, leopard is a huge trend this Fall. As I've said before, I have always been a fan of leopard. What's great about this print is it's so versatile. You can throw in pops of leopard if you're wearing brown or black.

Recently, I have re-discovered a shop I used to go to when I was in Jr. High, Charlotte Russe. I must have been spending too much time over at Forever 21 because boy have I been missing out. Don't get me wrong, I still love F21, but I find the items at Charlotte are a tad better quality. Take for example this elegant leopard cape. I had been eyeing this little animal for a few weeks and finally went in to get it. I will save this for the more dressier occasions, like winter parties or date night dinners with Jeff. The antiqued brooch detail is beautiful. I plan to wear this cape over a LBD with some black tights and black booties.

How better to wear a trend than on your feet?! I had been wanting a new pair of Tory Burch Revas, so I decided to take a walk on the wild side and get them in yup, you guessed it, leopard print. Not to mention I'm a fan of the gold Tory Burch emblem.

Lastly, my final leopard purchase to date is a big rouchy bandanna shawl/scarf. This is going to look so good paired with some black skinny pants, a crisp white button down shirt and black ballerina flats (the leopard on neck and feet might be a tad much...what do you think?), or skinny green cargos, a black velvet tuxedo jacket with gold buttons and Tory Burch leopard revas. I would love to know what all your Fall leopard trends are :)

Five Fall Finds

My new items, love

Sould Mate by Essie (please excuse the messy-quick application)

Coral Crush by Maybelline

As the weather gets colder, the hunt for key Fall/Winter pieces gets warmer! I picked up these items the other night at Target. The scarf/shawl being my biggest steal! Would you believe I picked it up for only $6 and some change!! I love the heart detailing along the edges, so sweet. My next favorite item is a pair of black driving gloves with white piping on the cuff. There is nothing more lady-like than a pair of black leather gloves. I am so excited to wear these with a pair of dark jeans, black leather jacket, feminine top and some black heels. They are the perfect way to keep your hands warm and stylish :) I absolutely love the bright color of Maybelline's Coral Crush. I really like how Maybelline lipsticks smell, reminds me of Dr. Pepper soda. It gives the prettiest orange/red/pink color. Another beauty item I picked up was Essie's Soul Mate. Now, I just posted about a nail polish haul here, but this color is probably going to be my go-to color for the season. I have always been drawn to dark deep plums, and Essie's Soul Mate is just that! Lastly, my new book, Style by Lauren Conrad. The ex Hills star gives great tips for whatever the occasion may be. Not to mention she gives advice on how to shop and what key items every girl should have in her wardrobe. *Sigh... if only I had her wardrobe :)
